Surveys Say…
The Burnside Writers Collective is on hiatus for a week as we catch up on some housekeeping duties. We are in the process of moving to a new server, as well as updating our site with one or two new features.
During this week off, as the BWC community (readers and writers alike) catches its collective breath, we’d like to ask a favor: Could you tell us a little about yourself?
We’ve set up a brief, non-invasive survey. There are just ten questions, the survey is anonymous, and the entire process should only take a few minutes.
We know we can’t possibly pin you down (with all of your glorious uniqueness and complexity) by asking questions about age and educational status, but a survey has become important for three reasons.
First, a lot of changes have taken place over the last few months. We started publishing new issues once a week, we launched the Ankeny Briefcase literary journal in December, and we’ve introduced new writers and fresh features. We want to know what you like best about the BWC and what you’d like to see more of.
Second, the BWC is expensive to maintain and we have to sell ad space to stave off the internet repo man. Our potential sponsors want to know who you are, where you are, and what your interests are so they can cater to your every need.
Third, the BWC’s average readership has doubled over last year. If you’re an old friend, we don’t want to lose touch. If you’re new, we’d like you to introduce yourself.
Filling out this survey will help us know who you are and how we can serve you better.

Thank you for your time. And have a good week. We’ll see you next Monday.
Thanks you,
