Dear folks interested in The Ankeny Briefcase,

In February 2005, we launched a website, www.ankenybriefcase.com. You may have noticed that links to that site were featured here at BurnsideWritersCollective.com, and also at DonaldMillerWords.com. Those links have since been removed, but The Ankeny Briefcase is still alive and very, very well.

The Ankeny Briefcase will be an anthology of short fiction written by various unpublished (or lightly published) writers. Since AnkenyBriefcase.com was launched, we have received over 350 submissions, and plenty of incredible stories.

In the last few weeks, after many talks with the lovely folks at ReliefJournal.com, we’ve landed on a partnership, sort of like the Thundercats. Due to this partnership, the release date for The Ankeny Briefcase has been set: December 1, 2006.

The Ankeny Briefcase will be available for purchase on our store and at ReliefJournal.com. Despite a long wait, we feel we’ve come up with the best deal possible, and we’re sure that you’ll love the collection.

Before now, we have been unable to assure that a story has been accepted or not due to the fact that we weren’t sure who our publisher would be and if our publisher would agree with our story choices. if your story has been accepted for the final print version, we will contact you via email in the next few months. Rest assured, your story will not appear unless you have finally authorized its release.

If you have submitted a story and have yet to hear whether it has been accepted or not, please pardon our dust…we are working on contacting everyone involved.
